A Guide to Installing a Split System Air Conditioner

Split system air conditioning systems are now easily capturing most of the residential market as they prefer them over the conventional window models. In fact, the increasing demand for this kind of system has given rise to an increased variety of these units all across the country. The most attractive feature of a Fujitsu split system air conditioner is that it allows you to ventilate your room by opening or closing the vents while still maintaining your room temperature. In a split system air conditioner, the evaporator and condenser of the unit are separated by a gap between the evaporator and the compressor. While the evaporator uses refrigerant gas, the compressor uses condensate gas from the compressor to cool the refrigerant gas that is flowing through the condenser coil. The gas refrigerant is cooled using the compressor’s expansion valve while the refrigerant gas flows through a small opening on the end of the condenser, where the gas refrigerant passes through an evaporator coil. Once cooled, the refrigerant gas flows into a single channel and exits through the compressor return pipe.

The installation of a Fujitsu split system air conditioner needs a few basic things. First, you need to have a tester for the type of refrigerant used in the system. Some types of refrigerants use a solenoid valve to close the valve once the refrigerant reaches the compressor. Therefore, you must check the tester regularly to ensure that the solenoid has not closed during the testing period. If you are installing the system in the central cooling system, you need to consider a drain pan in front of each window unit.

After installing the split system air conditioner, you should install a drain pan in the area that the ductwork will cover. This will help ensure that the solenoid does not inadvertently close while the air conditioning system is running. If the air conditioning system is installed in a wall, the ductwork needs to be extended to cover the entire wall. Once you have installed the split system air conditioner, you need to remove the ductwork in front of the indoor units. It is always advisable to use a drain pan to catch the leaking refrigerant gas before it leaks out of the system. However, if you are installing the system in the central cooling system, you need to ensure that the pipe fittings are watertight to prevent water from seeping into the rooms. Make sure that you mark all the pipes and mark the connection points to reinstall the units later on.
